Prayer And Liturgy
Here you can find out about prayer life and liturgies at St Peter's.
We have two main assemblies each week.
On Monday, we all gather for a Gospel assembly. We share a Bible story and think about how we can link the main message of the text to our own lives. We say a prayer together and we sing together. Sometimes, children lead this assembly with the staff.
On Friday, we all gather for a celebration assembly. Here we recognise achievements across the week. We receive certificates for achievements in adopting the school values. We also celebrate achievements outside of school and find out which house team has the most house points. We end with a prayer.
We are supported by Deacon Simon and Cecelia. Each week, they come in and help us with singing practice. The children are able to choose songs to sing. We also sing songs in line with the liturgical year.
Each day, the children say the school prayer. This prayer was written by the pupils, staff and governors. Short, class liturgies take place throughout the week. The children are invited to share celebrations and news from home. We listen to stories and offer prayers.
Children are invited to participate if they feel comfortable doing so. If you would like more information about this, please see our collective worship policy. This is updated each year.
