Computing
Computing and digital skills play a vital role for everyday life and work. Therefore, at St Peter's, our intent is to ensure that all of our pupils become skilled, respectful and safe digital citizens.
We aim to grow the computing skills of our children not just through both direct teaching, but in a range of learning opportunities where they can transfer what they have learnt across the curriculum.
Computing will enable pupils to develop a wide range of fundamental skills, knowledge and understanding that they will use and build upon for the rest of their lives. At the forefront of this is an awareness of online presence and behaviour - keeping safe and treating others with respect. Computing links closely to our work in RSE with this. In addition, we also aim for our children to have an understanding of 'digital literacy' - to look at the online world with a careful, critical eye.
Pupils across the school are support with Chromebooks. These allow children to not only be able to access Computing resources efficiently, but to support them across the whole curriculum.
