School Meals

Hot meals

From September 2024 school lunches for pupils attending St Peter's Catholic Primary School will be provided by Go! Catering.  With use of a local, dedicated industrial kitchen, Go! Catering provide lunches that are freshly prepared and cooked on a daily basis.

Producing over 500,000 children's meals across the last 10 years has helped the Go! Catering team to gain a clear understanding of children's and parent's expectations when it comes to providing high quality, health school lunches.

A good school lunch consists of a substantial and healthy main meal, such as a roast dinner, pasta bolognaise or curry dish, with access to fresh salad items as a complement.  This is followed by a daily dessert (such as flapjack, cake or mousse).

Every child registered for school lunches will receive a meal based on their individual dietary requirements including allergies or intolerances with a vegetarian alternative provided daily.

For details of Go! Catering's menu please follow link on the left.

Free School Meals

Universal Infant Free School Meals

From September 2014 all children in Years R, 1 and 2 are entitled to free school meals, funded through the Government's Universal Infant Free School Meals programme.  Good food has been shown to lead to healthier, happier and more fulfilled children and also to improved educational attainment.

Free School Meals and the Pupil Premium

Even if your child is in Year 3 and above, they may still be eligible to receive free school meals which could save you more than £350 a year.  For every child registered our school will also receive £1,345 this year.  The Government is giving money to schools to help children from lower income families to do their very best - this funding is called 'Pupil Premium' and is allocated to schools for all children who successfully apply for free school meals.  For all children eligible for Benefits related Free School Meals (FSM), parents will receive access to the West Sussex County Council Holiday & Activities Fund (HAF) programme of activities.  Parents will also receive a free food voucher, usually to the value of £10 per child per week, during school holidays.
