Before school - Physical development
Daily activity – make sure you are active every day.
CBeebies also offer daily sessions Cosmic Kids / Joe wicks – or you may have a family favourite.
Session 1: Handwriting
Daily handwriting –
This is a web address to a link that we use in school. The children are all at very different stages in their handwriting, letter formation and pencil grip. This site takes you through the stages. Last term we looked at the straight lines. We are now on curves. It shows you a little clip first and then you get a chance to have a go. If you could start each day with a little bit of handwriting – it will help with letter formation.
We are also going to work through a letter a day. Use your white board.

We are also going to go through the alphabet – to master a letter a day. Today’s letter is….

Zoom Session - Session 2 - Communication Language and Literacy and literacy and Expressive Art and Design
Thinking about our Flying doctors this week from our story Zog and the Flying Doctors by Julia Donaldson
Your task today is to think about the bag that the ‘flying doctors‘ need to take with them on their trips.
What do they need to put in their bag?
I have attached a PDF below for some ideas, but I would love to see what you would put in it.
Can you draw some pictures and label your items or write a list that Princess Pearl would use as a check list every time she goes out?
Think about the letters you are writing – which direction do they face? Where do you start to write them (generally they all start at the top)
Some things to think about: does she have the right medicine?
What does she need to make her patient comfortable?
Will she need something to calm someone down? (maybe if they are sad or worried)
Think about an experience you may have had at the doctors / or one you have seen or heard about.
What things will the flying doctors need in their doctor’s bag? Use your child’s suggestions to pack a doctor’s bag, linking back to Zog’s injuries and how Princess Pearl treated them.
Break time!

Session 3 Maths -Zoom session
We are going to look at pairs today A pair means 2. I will go through this idea with the children in the session.
But here are the ideas and the link for the online session from White Rose.
https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/early-years/growing-6-7-8-week-2/
Let's start with a ten frame – how many counters can you see on the ten frame?
You play this game with Miss Cooper on the screen first – then you could play it with your toys. We are looking at equal pairs and when it is not equal what happens?
A challenge from Miss Cooper – when you are out on your walk today can you collect some objects and then make pairs with them when you get home?
You could have a look at a collection of your toys / small world figures / bricks / grapes? Can they go into pairs – how many do you have? What happens if you add one more? What happens if you take one away? How many do you have? How many pairs do you have? Do you have one not in a pair? Why?
Session 4 - Phonics
For your phonics today I have put a link for an Ebook from Oxford Owl for you. have a read. Can you spot the set 2 sounds that we have been learning this term in your reading books on in any labels or signs that you see oin your environment? Happy hunting!
