From Year Two upwards, emphasis is placed upon using phonics to spell and the teaching of new spelling rules. The Read Write Inc Spelling scheme is used to support this. Year Two and Three still retain regular whole class phonic lessons in order to consolidate skills and act as support and review for pupils.

Pupils enjoy following the characters as they help teach them new spelling rules and words.
