This is a web address to a link that we use in school. The children are all at very different stages in their handwriting, letter formation and pencil grip. This site takes you through the stages. Last term we looked at the straight lines. We are now on curves. It shows you a little clip first and then you get a chance to have a go. If you could start each day with a little bit of handwriting – it will help with letter formation.

Maths
Maths – Growing 6,7,8
Miss Cooper talks about the number 6,7, and 8 today – I would like you to have a go at the memory game she mentions I have attached some PDF’s below for you to play one. You could use the blank dominoes from yesterday, create your own cards on blank paper or find items around your house.
Thinking about our Flying doctors this week from our story Zog and the Flying Doctors by Julia Donaldson – lets think about the bag that the ‘flying doctors‘ need to take with them on their trips. What do they need to put in their bag? I have attached a PDF below for some ideas, but I would love to see what you would put in it. Can you draw some pictures and label your items or write a list that Princess Pearl would use as a check list every time she goes out?
What things will the flying doctors need in their doctor’s bag? Use your child’s suggestions to pack a doctor’s bag, linking back to Zog’s injuries and how Princess Pearl treated them.
Think about the letters you are writing – which direction do they face? Where do you start to write them (generally they start at the top)
Some things to think about: does she have the right medicine?
What does she need to make her patient comfortable?
Will she need something to calm someone down? (maybe if they are sad or worried)
Think about an experience you may have had at the doctors / or one you have seen or heard about.
Knowledge and Understanding
Day 2 of the Animal Hospital
I hope you had a productive day yesterday setting up your premises.
Today we need to think about how your hospital will run smoothly?
Your patients will need signs and directions on what to do and where to go.
You will need welcome signs. And posters.
Tell them what an area does. Is there a waiting room?
